Interview Guide for BAHS Admission

Why interview?

BAHS is a humanities degree programme that aims to develop knowledgeable, passionate, and capable individuals who can thrive "humanistically" "artistically" and "socially" in the professional world. We believe success requires not only academic knowledge but also critical thinking, empathy, curiosity, and a willingness to learn and grow.

The admission interview allows us to look beyond academic records and understand each applicant’s interests, motivation, perspectives, and potential. We do not expect applicants to have all the answers. Instead, we value their openness to new ideas and their readiness to develop into thoughtful, capable, responsible individuals, and appropriate professional etiquette.

Area 1: Real Communication and Dialogue

  • Fluency in English Communication
Candidates are expected to communicate fluently with interviewers. While accents are not a concern, as everyone speaks with an accent, candidates should express their ideas clearly and coherently.
  • Engagement and dialogue
Candidates are expected to engage actively with the topics and issues discussed during the interview and ask thoughtful questions that encourage further discussion and meaningful dialogue.

Area 2: Understanding in humanities studies

  • General understanding of what the humanities subjects are
Candidates are expected to demonstrate a general understanding of the humanities, including at least one specific field of study. They should show curiosity about how these fields help us understand human experiences, cultures, values, and society, as well as an openness to exploring different perspectives.
  • the Potential and Limitations of the Humanities
Candidates are expected to demonstrate an awareness of how humanities studies can contribute to future professional and academic pathways, as well as the challenges and limitations they may encounter. They should be able to reflect on how humanities knowledge and skills can be applied in different careers and areas of further study.
